I remember when I graduated - 20 years or so ago - and at our department's end-of-course party, one of the staff went around asking students what they would be doing next, and the answers were along the lines of 'temp typist... cleaner... unemployed... don't know, haven't got a job yet... mailroom clerk... unemployed...'

Oh now I understand. I was afraid it was something - futures - as in stocks and shares which is beyond my ken.
